Goliath Data Log [001]

[Entry 001]

“Hey there, I’m not usually one for video journals, but space is a quiet place, apart from the low-pitched hum of machinery. This may help me keep my sanity in check during the downtime between working my problems.

My name is Vega Fernandez-Garcia, or as my friends call me, V. If you had told me to do a spacewalk 3 weeks ago, I would have flat out refused. But this past week I reckon that I have spent more time outside this ship than in. Now that all twenty-nine warning beacons are operational around Ranyor, I think it is finally time for me to leave home.

To my dear wife, whom I have no doubt is tracking me across the stars in something far more practical than my current vessel max-occupancy-to-occupancy ratio of 2068, I love you, and there is something for you at rendezvous point 9.

Our route to Greznar is as fast as the battle-worn Goliath can handle without tearing apart. With a little luck, and some careful resource management, it won’t be a crash landing when we get there.”
