Goliath Data Log [002]

[Entry 002]

“Well, we are slightly off course…

We will be back on track with a few short burns from the aft thruster. I’m beginning to realize that getting into orbit will be extremely difficult without the ship’s AI online. Without one, efficient attitude adjustments will be nearly impossible on my own.

My software engineering is haphazard at best, and to be honest, I’m not sure I ever really knew the difference between true Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, but with luck I can train the neural network with media, especially the large language model. I’ll patch it into the data log too, that way if I accidentally create HAL from the “2001 Space Odyssey“, you’ll know what happened.

I only have a week before we get to Lagrange point 1, but I am still strongly opposed to dying in a crash against the planet’s surface. Deep breaths Vega, no pressure.

At least now I have a hobby to pass the time.”
